Here is the first entry of the year we allegedly call 2026. I decided to skip January and begin things in Feb instead, either consciously or unconsciously, and here we are.
I had several gigs in January, but could do with being busier. Although I have some exciting things in the works. May is looking particularly exciting. Not only am I doing Brighton Fringe and Rik Mayall Comedy Festival in Droitwich, but I am also performing HTWAPQ in a taproom of a small independent brewery in Sussex. The booking came out of the blue and has given me an idea to try and organise a taproom tour. I am in discussions with a few and currently finalising some dates. But do you own or manage a small independent brewery with a taproom and would like to book me to perform How To Win A Pub Quiz there? If so, get in touch via the contact details, and we will go from there.
I am also planning Edinburgh Fringe this year. Sadly, it doesn’t look like I’ll be at the same venue I was last year. I have another option pencilled in and am exploring one or two others. The one complication with doing Edinburgh Fringe this year, as if there weren’t enough already, is that I have just started the process of selling my flat. I am hoping it’ll all be completed by August, but you never know how long these things are going to take.
On the podcast front, we initially had plans to get back on the audio horse in January. But then Siobhan realised how much time and energy she’d be spending on family stuff. So, we made a decision to push it back to this month. As much as I enjoy doing the podcast, it is a lot of work, considering I also do all the editing. I have appreciated the break, but it will be nice to start things back up again.
On the music gig front, I have a great year ahead of me. I am going to a couple of Creeper shows in April-May, then seeing System of a Down and My Chemical Romance on consecutive weeks in July.
